We've kept your families' trust for a hundred years, and we treat your information with the same care we treat our recipes. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.
Who we are
Délices is a patisserie, café and restaurant at 46 Saad Zaghloul Street, Raml Station, Alexandria, Egypt, owned and operated by the same family since 1922. We are the data controller for the information you share through this website. Questions: [email protected].
What we collect
When you place an order, build a wholesale request, ask about catering, or submit a hotel proposal, you give us details like your name, business name, phone, email, delivery address and the specifics of your request. When you use our concierge chat, we process the messages you send to answer you. We also collect basic, anonymous usage data (like pages visited) to keep the site working well. We only ask for what we need to serve you.
Why we collect it (legal basis)
To prepare and fulfil your order or proposal, to contact you about it, and to run our business as a hundred-year-old family establishment. Under Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) — and, where it applies to visitors from abroad, the EU GDPR — we rely on your consent and on the necessity of processing to perform the service you requested.
What we never do
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone who isn't helping us fulfil your request — for example a delivery partner who brings your order, our email provider that sends our replies, or our hosting and database providers that run this site. We require those partners to protect your data. No surprises.
Where your data is processed
Our website, database and email systems are operated by reputable providers and may process data on servers outside Egypt (including in the EU and the US). Where data leaves Egypt, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a comparable standard.
Délices Concierge (AI assistant)
Our concierge is powered by a third-party AI provider (Anthropic). The messages you send to it are processed to generate a reply and are not used to identify or market to you. Please don't share sensitive personal information in the chat — for orders and bookings, use the forms or call us.
Delivery partners
If you order cooked food through Talabat or MRSOOL, that order is handled under their terms and privacy policies as well as ours. We'd encourage you to read theirs too.
How long we keep it
We keep order, wholesale and partnership records for as long as needed to serve you and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, then we delete or anonymise them. Enquiry messages are kept only as long as useful to follow up.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent — rights recognised under Egypt's PDPL and the GDPR. Email [email protected] and we'll take care of it personally, usually within 30 days.
Cookies
We use only the essential cookies needed to make the site work and to understand basic, anonymous traffic. We don't use advertising trackers. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time.
Children
This site and our online services are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.
